There are many people from Darlington who have served their country and some have given all. The Darlington Veterans Memorial at the corner of Orange and Main Streets commemorates those individuals.
Two of these men are highlighted with their stories on large black memorials: James Elliott Williams, the most heavily decorated Enlisted Saloir in U.S. Navy history, and Billy Farrow, who flew with Doolittle's raiders in the attack on Japan after the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
You can make a donation to the continue the upkeep and improvement of the memorial by mailing checks to Darlington Veterans Memorial, P.O. Box 62, Darlington, SC 29540.
